Parish Ministry Website
Description of Ministries:
Our small group of Sisters and Associates began the project for “Lukelesia’s Wells’ in Kenya last year. Along with Immaculate Conception Parish, Arlington, we were able to have two wells built in Siritanyi, Kenya.
Description of fundraising efforts (if any):
Our small group continues to be interested in the needs of these rural people. Although our efforts are small, we have been collecting money (donations, garage sales) with the intention of building latrines. Sr. Margaret Parry who works at the Carmelite Monastary and is a friend of Sr. Teresa Benedicta, Lukelesia’s daughter, is spearheading our efforts. The political unrest in Kenya has delayed this project for now.
Collaboration with individuals or groups outside of the parish/community:
Describe visits (if any) between your parish/community and your African Partners:
How is your ministry organized and run:
Describe Youth Involvement (if any):
One possibility is that the youth of the sub-parish in Siritanyi would help with the building of the latrines.
Describe areas of expertise that exist in your mission work:
What other information would be helpful for others or your community to know/learn from:
What would you like to see or experience at future conferences
