RESPONSE: I was a senior in high school and was invited on a mission trip to Kenya with my church. I initially turned down the opportunity because I didn\'t know what to expect. My pastor met with me and explained things and convinced me it will be a great experience. This encouragement should be practiced in parishes because it is a great experience.";

I traveled withmy 19 year old daughter and 5 from our parish (MQP) to Ghana. We were genuinely welcomed as brothers & sisters and felt as if we had been friends a long time! The celbration Mass was one of the most spiritual and joyful experiences of my life. We witnessed a parish with very strong community and fellowship that made me tingle with joy and hop. The parish has wonderful outreach to families and individuals in need. They have strong, wise and dedicated leadership in Fr. Matthew, assistant priests and Pastoral Council. My faith was deepened by the OLA people\'s witness of faith and praise and trust in God for all their needs. Gratitude for a Gracious God!

RESPONSE: Our priest, Fr. Henry, is from Uganda. Because of him we have a growing interest in furthering our relations with his home parish: Mother Most Pure Parish
There already have been several activities and events that have raised funds to support our sister parish - a group of five visited the parish in January 2009 and brought back stories that have increaded interest in our parish";

RESPONSE: The answer to this is in the one name: Sister Baptista Kaoma. She inspired the formation of Hearts for Zambia";

RESPONSE: Trying to live more simply. Keeping others needs in mind.";

My awareness was raised, I changed my conversation, increased my donations, caused me to help facilitate sister schools. ";

RESPONSE: I learned joy in the simplicity of life and joy. We have measured our life style and tried to scale it down.";

If you\'ve never travelled to Africa or similar locations, what is it that called you to be active in an African sister parish or outreach ministry?RESPONSE: Arlington supports the Sister Parish in Bungoma with dedication. In being a new parishioner I felt enthusiasm for this project (wells, church, school and student adoption). I decided \"I want to go to Kenya\" to try to make a difference in someone else\'s life and bring back information of \"need\" of Kenya people.";

What did you do with what you learned?RESPONSE: In Africa you learn that everything we have always thought was important for hapiness: stuff, being on time, independence, and standing on our own two feet doesn\'t make us happy. In africa making relationships and taking the time it takes to make them and being happy with whatever we have become the obvious ways to their happiness.";

RESPONSE: Matthew ends his Gospel with what has come to be known as the Great Commission. Called by the Holy Spirit I began with a mission to Malaysia in the 1960\'s. Now in the twilight of my life we are off to a mission in Kenya. We know not what fruit if any it will bring. But we trust in the Lord that we will learn and share and build the City of God in solidarity. We who have, must out of the Love of Christ for each of us, share with those who have less and have a harder life. By doing so we both become closer to God.";

RESPONSE: I\'ve learned that we, as Amereicans, are gluttons, selfcentered - focused too much on protecting what we have. My heart grew so much bigger I am drawn to learning more about justice and acting accordingly! I am Praying for Passion.";

RESPONSE: I travelled to Malawi Africa last May (2008). Seeing that part of the world was a life changing experience. Such a joyful people that truly understand the true meaning of life was a pleasure. To see people who have so much less material items as well as the basic needs of life, yet have som much happiness. It has made me thing about how what I do effects people on the other side of the world.";
